Reflections comic
History: Wiki linkThree key adjectives: reclusive, charismatic, mysterious
Influential Events: The Deadlock Gang: McCree was part of this gang that trafficked illegal weapons at a very young age. It's also implied that he was one of the founding members of Deadlock, moving from a string of crimes to a more organized group with a name, logo, and a family feel to it. It's probably here that he became skilled in sharpshooting (and probably where he picked up his fashion sense). Nothing is known about his life prior to this beyond being called a ruffian, but seeing how he was in a very serious gang as a teenager, it stands to reason that this was a rough education where he was thrown into the deep end to sink or swim, and where the only people he could depend on was his Deadlock family.
Arrest: during an Overwatch sting operation, McCree and other members of the gang were caught. Taking note of his skill with a gun, he was given the choice between going to prison and joining Overwatch's covert op's division: Blackwatch. He chose the latter and became an agent in the peacekeeping organization. Seeing this as his chance to atone for the things he'd done, he took to the work easily, doing everything that was asked of him, even if that meant killing whomever Blackwatch told him to kill.
The Venice Incident: While on a mission in Venice to capture a Talon agent responsible for a bombing at an Overwatch facility, McCree's commander went rogue and assasinated their target. Shocked by this, McCree was furious at the plan not being followed and made his displeasure known as he and the other agents had to flee the city under gunfire. His other associates saw nothing wrong with the killing, but McCree was highly affected by the incident and cited it as the point where everything "started to go wrong" within Overwatch. Blackwatch's existence had been revealed by the press, and the death of their target led to more powerful players taking his place within Talon. He stayed on at least a year longer, if not more, but as tensions grew within Blackwatch and with Overwatch, McCree left before the organization was shut down. He didn't want to be a part of something he no longer believed in.
Train Hopper: McCree worked mainly as a bounty hunter, but his sense of justice led him to become a vigilante who helped the helpless without asking for payment. While hitching a ride on a train, he discovered Talon agents sneaking aboard. What really got his attention was that the group was using Blackwatch tactics, and so he sprung into action to defend the passengers and crew of the train from them. Not understanding what it was they were after, McCree threw the item off the train in order to protect the people aboard. He showed his calm throughout the event and even predicted he would be blamed for the attempted robbery.

Chosen path: Ranger
3 Abilities: Natural Explorer, Sniper, Hunter's Mark
Why this path?: I'll admit it was hard to choose between this and Fighter, but what really tipped the scales were the sentences concerning hunting the monsters that threaten people and being independent to a fault. Since leaving Overwatch, McCree has favored working alone. He gets in, he rescues people, and he gets out before anyone can ask too many questions. He fits what a Ranger is so well. Plus the part about favoring long range weapons, because nothing beats his Peacekeeper at his hip.
