Still trying to settle in, mostly. Get used to this new life. My roommate's a centaur, so we're wondering if somebody's playing a joke on us. Y'know: cowboy, horse person. Sort of fits, right? But beyond that... eh, not much. There's a guy here who I knew years ago back home. Seems the thing to do to reconnect with him, but he's not exactly the same as when I last knew him, and I didn't leave in the best way so...

He's really nice, as long as he's not charging you for snacks.

Maybe the Director wanted to see if you would ride him.... [ honestly if maya were in charge of housing, she'd probably put them together too. she's already had an extensive conversation with poor chiron about getting a ride. that gives her pause, though. ]

Well, if so, we've disappointed her. No riding has — or will — happen.
[ He and Chiron discussed it too. McCree assumed Chiron would kick him for trying, but the centaur said he'd just buck him off. ]
Yeah, I guess so. There's a lot of unanswered questions about events surrounding us, but we're both not the type to give straight answers.
[ He flashes Maya a smile. ]
Not to each other, at least. I can answer people just fine normally. But things were tense back home. Lot of people fighting where we worked, lot of betrayal; that sort of thing. It's still a sore subject.

Well, obviously! If anyone's gonna hitch a ride on Mr. Centaur, it's me. I've got first dibs. [ sorry, mccree. she has first dibs. they've even discussed centaur backpacks for human passengers. (or, chiron said no and maya wasn't deterred). ]

The thing is, though.... no matter what your differences, your world needs you both now. So that's why it's good to hash it out and work together. It's kinda one in a million that you're both on the team like this, right? At least, that's what I think.
[ and she will absolutely step up if she needs to. as a fearless leader, and also as mccree's friend!!! ]
